Have you ever felt like there too much information on making money? Like everyone and their dog is selling a “make money from home” opportunity? Like everyone is making money… except for you?
You’re not alone. I remember over 20 years ago (in my teens) – when I picked up my first home business magazine. I was overwhelmed with all of the “Make Money” and “Get Rich” ads packed into the magazines. Today, on the Internet, I think that number has multiplied by a thousand.
So how do you beat overwhelm – and find a real home-business you’re passionate about?
I recorded a short video to give you some advice on how to stop feeling overwhelmed and move closer to finding a real home-based business that you can succeed with.
Enjoy!

Sweet post.

excellent video about beating overwhelm, it is actually useful for me. keep writing and happy blogging.
Hey Jeff,
No one comes close to the quality of information you provide. This subject hits home with me.
I value your ability to pave the way and then look back to help others.
Your student,
Tony
Hey Tony,
Thanks for the kind compliment. I truly appreciate it.
Look for more soon. I’ll be filming videos tomorrow and the rest of the week & weekend.
More to come.
Thanks again.
Best,
Jeff
Jeff, great info. and thanks again! You always manage to simplify things when I make them complicated. Interestingly though, my passion is to simply work from home for time freedom….to volunteer, to assist others, to play.
Home based business, or MLM in particular seems to be the “means” to get to the goal.
Sifting thru all the marketing ideas and “systems” is quite a chore, and especially when I work evenings and have limited time in the day. Everyone has THE SYSTEM to “get me there” just buy their product and discover how. This will bankrupt many–close for me–but it’s really the TIME invested that haunts me.
PASSION? INTERESTS? Okay Jeff, I will narrow it down to my passion first. Guess I can’t make $10,000 a month until I get that FIRST PERSON involved in my opportunity, then get a second one and grow a little at a time. It just seems like a long road, but guess I need to learn patience.
Thanks Jeff!
Hey Terry,
Thanks for the message.
When I was starting out, my goal was “get rich” — so the “means” didn’t really matter to me. When “Millionaire Bob” told me he had the end-all, be-all system for getting rich, I forked over my money. Unfortunately, what Millionaire Bob didn’t tell me is that it took him 4 years of slogging along, going door-to-door selling ads on phone book covers. Desperate (in college) to mirror his results, I tried the same thing. But after a few appointments with less-than-excited prospects, I gave up. Why? My heart wasn’t in it. Millionaire Bob did it – but it just wasn’t a good fit for me, my personality, my lifestyle. I didn’t want to have to drive all over the country selling ads on phone book covers to make my millions.
Fortunately, I stumbled onto mail order. Loved the concept… loved being able to sell nationwide (now worldwide with the Internet)… like automating the marketing… letting ads and sales letters do the selling for me, 24/7… etc. That clicked with me – and my passion for it kept me going – even when I stumbled and fell… or hit brick walls.
For me, the simple formula is “Passion + Solid Business Concept = Money & Lifestyle”
Thanks again, Terry! Have a great one!
Best,
Jeff

Hey Jeff,
I couldn’t agree more with you about this issue. BUT there is another huge problem with biz-ops. They do NOT give you complete information regarding the biz. Why would a plumber teach you his business for $99.97? A marketer teach you his business for $99.97? And so on… Like any other business the biz-op industry has some closely guarded insider info that they would never give out unless you fork over tens of thousands of dollars. I can read how-to books from now to eternity and come out knowing very little regarding any business. Every business has some trade secrets and that is especialy true in the online/offline biz-op industry.
I went bankrupt learning this valueable lesson. Please learn from my mistakes and use your head. Make a REAL business plan and FOCUS on the steps it will take to achieve those goals. Stay WITHIN your budget and grow SLOWLY. NOT overnight. learn to deal with HUMANS not just mailers and internet sales letters.
There is nothing wronge with honest biz opportunities but you have to realize that you will still have to learn how to make them work in REALITY. Get out of your fantasy and set some real measurable goals so you can start to GROW.
I hope this will help some people out there.
Jeff, if you are reading this, thanks for being one of my many teachers. I have failed now but will emerge stronger and wiser now.

Hey Zack,
Thanks for the great reply. You’re right, Zack. A lot of bizop people sell you a little at a low cost… hoping to string you along until you pay a lot. What’s amazing to me is that the quality of some $10 books at Barnes and Noble contain more actionable information than some $500 courses.
Yep, just like you said, you have to “get out of your fantasy”. There’s a belief (probably created by the bizop marketers) that making money is “magic”. It’s not. There’s an investment of time, money, and learning necessary to make money in anything. Unfortunately, most people learn this too late.
Thanks for the great comments, Zack. I really want Millionaire in Training to be a place where we can all learn from each other’s experiences.
Thanks again!
Best,
Jeff
Right on Jeff!
Additionally, before going to Barnes and Noble and shelling out, please do a Google search and you’ll be amazed at how much you can learn from REAL industry info without buying anything and before getting sucked into another time/money waster.
